There are two ways in which North West Skills Academy deliver qualifications to learners. This can be by either our ‘Fast Track’ route or an On-Site Assessment. 

Fast Track delivery is an experienced worker practical assessment (EWPA). A one-day practical assessment at one of our assessment centres undertaking a rigorous practical skills test in your chosen trade area. For the Fast Track Assessment option you will be required to have 5 years construction experience as a minimum. 

The On Site Assessment takes longer than the Fast Track option, but can still be delivered between 1- 4 months; we come to your site over several visits and assess your capability over an extended period of time (1-4 months).

For the On Site Assessment route you need to be an experienced member of the trade we are assessing. 

Our courses are free as long as you meet the eligibility requirements, if not Payment will be required upon registration for the NVQ of your choice. This will be invoiced to the individual and payment can be made via Stripe with a credit or debit card

Fast Track (EWPA) = £1,000 £900 with 10% Checkatrade voucher

On Site = £1,250 £1,125 with 10% Checkatrade voucher

You also get one FREE Trade Directory advert for a Trade Directory in the location of your  choice. Our Checkatrade directories can help you grow your business by putting your trade  in front of homeowners in the area you want to work.  

The average Checkatrade trade receives, on average, 47% of their calls for work through the  directory advert and because we have a limited number of the same trades category in each  directory, you’ll be competing with fewer trades per job than with the online membership. 

We’ve been delivering directories to people’s houses for over 20 years and we reach 10m  homes each year with seasonal directories.

Your voucher expires 12 months after the last day of your course. This date was set by the training provider when you started your course. If you believe your voucher expiry date is  incorrect then please speak to either the training provider or someone at Checkatrade who, together, will resolve this query for you.
