Who Is This For
A Level 3 NVQ in Hybrid Wall Insulation is ideal for experienced insulation professionals who are looking to advance their skills and take on more complex projects. It’s suited to those already working in the retrofit or energy efficiency sector who install or supervise the installation of mixed insulation systems, such as combining internal, external and cavity wall insulation methods. This qualification is perfect for individuals aiming to progress their careers, gain formal recognition of their expertise, and meet the requirements for higher-level roles or industry accreditation schemes.
Mandatory Units
Learners must complete the six mandatory units
- Conforming to general health, safety and welfare in the workplace
- Confirming work activities and resources for an occupational work area in the workplace
- Developing and maintaining good occupational working relationships in the workplace
- Confirming the occupational method of work in the workplace
- Installing external wall insulation in the workplace
- Insulation and building treatments, building construction, defects and interfaces
And one of the following two optional units
- Installing internal insulation to walls in the workplace
- Injecting, blowing and spraying insulation to internal walls in the workplace
Optional Units
Learners can choose to take additional units but they do not form part of the core qualification
- Erecting and dismantling access/working platforms in the workplace
- Applying surface finishes to external wall insulation in the workplace
- Develop customer relationships

All Level 3 NVQs from the UK Skills Academy lead to a Gold CSCS card which is the certification that allows you to show your employer that you are qualified and have the knowledge and expertise to conduct yourself on-site in a safe and responsible manner. CSCS cards provide proof that individuals working on construction sites have the appropriate training and qualifications for the job they do on-site.
Eligibility
- 19+ Years Old
- Live or Work in England (Business address can be out of England as long as the work is in England – we will need evidence)
- 3 months working in the trade for Level 2 and 6 months for Level 3
- You must be working in the trade you are applying for now – you must be able to demonstrate via assessment.
Duration
Our NVQs are flexible to work around you and the trade you are currently working in. You will be registered for 8-10 weeks and your assessor will collect a range of evidence from your workplace, work with you on assessments and will require your knowledge workbook to be completed in the first 4 weeks.
CITB Registered?
You could be eligible to receive up to £600 back upon completion if you are registered with CITB.
